How accurate is the categorisation?▾
You do not have to take our word for it. Before paying, you see a free sample of your own data categorised, and you can correct any row. Every category is aligned to UNSPSC, with NAICS and NACE cross-references, and the export shows how each line was categorised so you can check it.
What file formats do you accept?▾
CSV and Excel (.xlsx). Download the template inside the app to see the columns: the item or supplier name is required; description, amount and date are optional but add more to the summary sheets.
What happens to my data?▾
Your transactions live in your own isolated workspace and other users cannot see them. Line item text is processed by automated systems and our sub-processors; the Privacy Policy lists them and explains the data flows and safeguards.
Can I change the categories?▾
Yes. Every level is editable in the app: rename, add or remove categories while you review the sample.
How does pricing work?▾
The sample is free. A full file costs GBP 25 minimum, then GBP 20 per 1,000 rows for the first 5,000, GBP 15 per 1,000 up to 50,000 and GBP 10 per 1,000 above that. Paid once, no subscription.

What is procurement spend classification?
Procurement spend classification (also called spend categorisation or spend categorization) is the process of taking every line item in your procurement data — supplier invoices, purchase orders, expense lines — and assigning it to a category in a structured taxonomy. It is the foundation of any spend analytics work: until your spend is classified, you cannot answer basic spend visibility questions like “how much did we spend on cleaning supplies last year?” or “how many suppliers sell us the same gloves?”
Done by hand, classification takes weeks of analyst time and usually leaves inconsistent categories and untreated tail spend. Structera does that one step automatically. It builds a three-level taxonomy aligned to the UNSPSC standard (with NAICS, SIC and NACE cross-references), categorises a representative sample for free so you can review it, and then applies the same logic to the whole file. What you do with the result — a spend cube for a board paper, an indirect spend review, a cleaner dataset for Power BI or Tableau — is up to you.
How classification works. Structera categorises your data using automated systems, including machine-learning models. Results are proposed, not final: you review a free sample and can correct any row before applying to your full file. No automated decision is made about any individual.
